Since the site launched two weeks ago we have had over a thousand visitors from all over the world! It is clear there is an interest out there in Belfast History.
Talking to some people who looked at the site, they particularly enjoyed the personal recollections and memories. We are extremely keen to get more of this type of content so I would encourage you to email any stories you may have.
Some suggestions…
- School days – 40 to a class and dreading the strap. Happy or sad, tell us your stories.
- Work – were you an apprentice? Maybe your job no longer exists, tell us your tales.
- Emigration – did you leave Belfast? Tell us where you ended up.
- Entertainment – did you sneak into the cinema? Follow the street singers? Have the first TV in the street? We want to hear all about it.
- Sport – who where your sporting heroes? Were you are fan of boxing, soccer?
- You get the idea; we are open to all suggestions.
Guidelines
- Do not worry if you are not a good writer, we can tidy up your text.
- We can publish your name or make it anonymous, whatever you prefer.
- Stories should be 500-1000 words, this sound a lot but it is actually only 1-2 typed pages.
- If you are worried that no one will be interested in your tale let us be the judge.
So get typing, and email your stories to info@belfasthistory.org
